The public still has an hour left today (Sunday, 21 June) make sure they are registered to vote in the upcoming 2026 Local Government Elections.

Voting stations across Potchefstroom, Ikageng and Promosa has been buzzing this past weekend with voters registering, verifying and updating their existing registration information.

Voting stations has been open from 08:00 this morning and will close at 17:00.

According to the Independent Electoral Commision (IEC) over 330 000 voters have successfully completed registration transactions at voting stations across the country by 12:00 today.

The Electoral Commission will announce the outcomes of the Voter Registration Weekend on Monday, June 22 from 14:00-15:00.

The 2026 Local Government Elections will take place on November 4.
