The Africa T20 Cup’s tagline states its entire attention to focus on developing cricketers and providing a breeding ground for fringe players to get exposure.

Furthermore, players who have T20 experience such as Albie Morkel, Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Robin Peterson get the chance to show what they still have left in the tank, as well as guiding the youngsters in a big-time tournament. Pool B recently concluded at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. Here are the top five stories of Pool B

1.Rassie van der Dussen

Van der Dussen may not have been one of the new finds of the tournament, but he once again stamped his authority as a fantastic T20 player. He has scored a 100 in T20 cricket for the Lions, and once again showed his class with a fantastic 74 runs that helped North West pick up their only win of the tournament. It is only a matter of time before Van der Dussen gets national colours

 2.SJ Erwee

This young, left-handed opening batsman is not your average T20 player who smashes the ball to all parts. This 25-year-old batsman has the technique as well as the aggression and kept a cool head to score 75 against Boland, that gave his side a memorable 10-run victory.

3.Kyle Nipper

Nipper came to prominence at the start of the tournament, with a quick-fire 20 and a great economical bowling performance that restricted North West. Nipper followed that up with two wickets against Boland and Border to end his tournament with six wickets.

4.Jean Marais

The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman made his T20 debut in the tournament and impressed cricket experts with his quick running and adaptability. His highest score was 51 and he averaged 47 for the tournament – a great start to a young career.

5.Craig Alexander

Craig Alexander has been on touring squad and emerging SA teams before but never seemed to perform when it mattered most. In this tournament, Alexander was relaxed and bowled with renewed fire. His dismissal of Border’s Koopman was the delivery of the weekend as his yorker sent two stumps out of the ground
