Promosa now has an African powerlifting champion after local powerlifter, Tshepo Rapoo, took home gold at the African Powerlifting Championships in Meknes Morocco from 21-26 October 2015.  Rapoo competed in the 83kg junior division and showed his strength and technique in a memorable performance for the young lifter.

“It was a wonderful experience competing at the African Championships in such a beautiful country. It made it even more memorable to come up on top as the 2015 African champion,” said Rapoo. Five powerlifters from North West took gold while South Africa’s total medal haul at the championships consisted of 10 golds and 1 silver.  “I am very pleased and satisfied with the excellent results.

All the hard work has paid off,” said Ephraim Khandanise, coach of the NW team. Khandanise also passed his international referee exam at the championships and is now a certified international referee.  “It is something I am extremely proud of,” he beamed.
