Karate is taking shape in Ikageng and a number of youngsters are using this form of martial art to stay focused and keep their self-discipline in life. This all occurs at the Ikageng Full Contact Karate Club, under the tutelage of the experienced Sensei, Mamokete Moleme, who has 23 years of experience under her three black belts.

‘It is all about keeping youngsters off the streets and staying   active while learning self-control and discipline in a competitive environment. I always tell them that karate is about self-defence,’ says Sensei Moleme.

She also urges the public to donate or contribute towards karate kits for the dedicated karatekas.

The club is situated at the St. Ephraim Church in Kanana and anyone from 6 years and upwards can join. Practice times are from 16:00-18:00 every Monday to Thursday.
