The Proteas bowling attack took 3 wickets at the close of play on day 2 as Bangladesh reached 127/3. This showcased the difference in quality in both sides as Bangladesh could only get three wickets in nearly two day against the Proteas batsmen who ended their first innings total on 496/3 declare.

Dean Elgar’s 199 was the pick of the bunch and as previously mentioned, was unlucky not to get that elusive first double hundred. Bangladesh’s batsmen have on the other hand lived a charm life, especially captain Mushfiqur Rahim who was dropped twice by Elgar yesterday. Proteas spinner, Keshav Maharaj eventually dismissed Rahim for 44, just as the skipper looked to threaten.

Kagiso Rabada and Morne Morkel also threatened with pace and extra bounce off the pitch, that seemed to make the Bangladeshis restless at times.

Tamim Iqbal (22 off 34) and Mominul Haque (28 off 64) are currently at the crease and will look to haul in the deficit of 369 in what promises to be an exciting day of test cricket. Iqbal will surely be the aggressor and is wicket will be vital in the morning session. His six off the final ball yesterday shows that he likes to go big, no matter the scenario!

South Africa will look to make more inroads into the Bangladesh batting line-up in order to enforce a follow-on. Expect Maharaj to pick up a few wickets today wit the ball spinning and keeping a bit low on a wearing pitch.
