Some of the world’s best junior tennis players took to the court at the 2018 Riaan Venter Tennis Academy (RVTA) NWU Junior IFT 2 this past week with only a few stars taking home the big titles on offer.
South Africa’s Pierre Malan won the boys singles title as the fourth seed, upsetting defending champion, Christiaan Worst 6–3, 7–5. Italy’s Matilde Mariani beat

Tilwith Di Girolami of Belgium 6–3, 6–2 to take the girls singles title. South Africa’s Gerhardt Becker and Joubert Klopper won the boys doubles title beating Alexander Hoogmartens and Noah Martens of Belgium 7–5, 6–3 in a closely-fought match. Mika Fruchtman and Lorin Tilipman of Israel beat South Africa’s Lize-Alet Morkel and Rochelle Pienaar 4–6, 6–3, 10–8 in a great comeback.
