The NWU’s standout athletes were Rantso Mokopane who claimed victory in the men’s 1 500 metres with a time of 3:48.67.

Chederick van Wyk also claimed a well-deserved third place in the men’s 100 metres. Lente Pieterse also impressed in the 200 metres for the Potchefstroomers, claiming a silver medal with Justine Palframan of Maties taking gold.
