Potchefstroom Boys High’s first hockey team (u.19) fijnished tenth in the recently concluded Noordvaal Hockey tournament which was held at the NWU-Astro from 26-28 July.
College finished the tournament on three points and although the team did not perform as well as hoped for, they still produced some good performances with a number of players puttign their hands up.
One of these players was their acrobatic goalkeeper, Atlegang Phetoane, who shined in front of goal especially in their match against Hoërskool Pietersburg as he almost single handedly kept his side in the game with some brilliant rushing saves.
Boys High captain, Simphiwe Sindwa, also had a good tournament from the centre of the astro. Nkosana Mbatha was also another player who impressed in defence and his ability to shoot a couple of rockets from penalty corner situations.
