Central School’s star swimmer takes the plaudits

Not only did this talented young swimmer compete at a national level at the SA Open Water Nationals but he also qualified for SA National Junior Swimming Championships in Durban from 20 to 24 March

Aiden Nel (12), a Gr. 7 learner at Potchefstroom Central School became the youngest swimmer to represent the North West Province at open water nationals and the only primary school learner in North West to make the qualifying time this season.

He achieved this at the SA Open Water Nationals in Jeffreys Bay on 2 March. Aiden ended fifth in the 12-year category’s 3-km swim.
Not only did this talented young swimmer compete at a national level at the SA Open Water Nationals but he also qualified for SA National Junior Swimming Championships in Durban from 20 to 24 March.

To complete the hat-trick, he will also be competing at the SA National Lifesaving Championships in Port Elizabeth from 25 to 30 March.
