The North West Swimming team performed brilliantly at the SA Open Water Swimming championships with Hofmeyer de Vos, Danielle Luyt and Abie van Oort racking up medals for the province.
These championships took place in Jeffreys Bay from 2 – 3 March.

De Vos was, once again, on the loose with gold in the 3000 m and 5000 m items. Consequently, he is now the new SA champion for both distances. Van Oort took silver in the 300 m while Luyt took bronze in the 3000 m.

The NW athletes who competed at these championships were Hofmeyer de Vos, Anneke Boshof, Marcel Zuur, Maxmillian Taylor, Danielle Luyt, Abdul-Malick Railoun, Ulriche’ Uys, Reino von Wielligh, Licinda Kleynhans, Albie van Oort, Bradine Knock and Nadia Blaauw.
