The first cricket team of Ferdinand Postma High School made light work of Vryburg High School in Potch on Saturday. Ferdies strolled to a seven-wicket win in the North West Super B-league.
It was a top bowling performance from the Ferdies boys who skittled out Vryburg for a disappointing 148 all out. Marco Botha with 3/23 and Duane Bester (4/71) were the two top wicket-takers for Ferdies. Kyle Isherwood also took a blinder in the slips to give Bester his first wicket of the match. Imaad Sayed (1/14) and Duan Botha (2/40) also claimed a few sticks. In reply, Duan Botha with a well- composed 56* (65) was instrumental to the cause with a solid anchoring innings.
Muhammad Motara finished off the job for Ferdies with a lightning-fast 35 from only 15 balls.
This was Ferdies’ second win in a row in the league, after beating Wolmarransstad before the school holidays.
