NWU Tawana made the best possible start to their ABC Motsepe 2021/22 season with a 5–3 win in their opening stream A match against Taung Mega Stars at Olën Park on Wednesday, 10 March.

Tawana was on top in this goal-fest, with Patrick Lebitsa and Kamogelo Nxumalo scoring braces. Katlego Multwaba also hit the back of the net to secure three points for Michael Seleka’s boys.

The next match at home was a much tougher assignment against Master Peace FC as Tawana had to settle for a 2–2 draw at home. Kamogelo Nxumalo and Thato Moeng netted for the NWU.

“It was a physical and tactical game. We took home a few lessons and we need to minimise mistakes in front of the box,” stated NWU Tawana head coach Michael Seleka.

NWU’s next home match is against TUT FC at Olën Park this Saturday, 20 March, with Covid-19 restrictions still in place. Another three points would work nicely in a tough, packed schedule ahead.
