Last weekend’s Wohnen/Top Paints NW Club Premier League saw some top performances from Potch Dorp’s first and second cricket teams. The first team easily dispatched Ramblers by eight wickets at the Witrand Oval.

A fine all-round bowling performance saw the men from Vryburg dismissed for only 113. Van Zyl Smit took 4/6 with Alex Meyer bagging 2/20. Smit (45) and his former Volkies teammate, Christopher de Freitas (48), easily took Dorp to victory in only 18.2 overs.

Potch Dorp 2 and Ikageng participated in an absolute thriller of a match, with Dorp 2 getting a close five-run victory in a low-scoring game. Dorp was dismissed for only 82 before Ikageng was bowled out for 77. Dorp 2’s Jean Lazenby took figures of 4/2 with Gerhard Visser taking 3/20 to win the nailbiter.

Ikageng’s Johnny Kekana (4/28) was also one of the stars with the ball on the day.

The third match of the week saw Travelling Reefs beat The Geek Cricket Academy by a comprehensive 175-run margin. Reefs put on 270 all out before bowling out The Geek Cricket Academy for only 95.
