Cricket South Africa (CSA) released the full squads for the upcoming division 1 2021/22 season today. All the teams feature some top signings and the new mix of players will surely make this an exciting and competitive season.
The big name signings at North West with Nicky van den Bergh, Heino Kuhn, Senuran Muthusamy and Dwaine Pretorius will surely be of great importance in the upcoming season. Other unions such as Western Province acquired experience in the form of ex Proteas players, Hashim Amla, Wayne Parnell and Vernon Philander.
Boland, one of the new unions in division 1, also scored big with the services of Janneman and Pieter Malan as well as Proteas, Christiaan Jonker and Kyle Abbott.
KZN Coastal added young fast bowler, Thando Ntini and former SA u.19 captain, Bryce Parsons to their ranks whilst keeping a settled squad that won them the final Franchise title as the Dolphins last year.
Gauteng also feature a strong team with 10 players keeping their contracts. Former Dragons players Kagiso Rapulana and Ruan Haasbroek join the Joburg side, with the returning pacer, Duanne Olivier also part of the setup. Eastern Province can count on the regulars to form the basis of their side.
Proteas fast bowler, Anrich Nortje has stayed on with EP. Exciting pacer, Marco Jansen and batsman Diego Rosier will also form part of the squad.
The Titans, with their host of Proteas stars, will also be one of the top teams to look out for. They also recruited spinner, Simon Harmer as well as all-rounder, Corbin Bosch and long time Lions spinner, Aaron Phangiso, join the Titans.
Free State features a squad mixed with young and experience and although there are no major big name signings, the likes of Mangaliso Mohsehle and Gegory Mohlokwana will definitely bring an x-factor to the side.
