SA Emerging Women beat Thailand convincingly in first T20 at Senwes Park

SA Emerging off spinner, Kushi Mistry bamboozled the Thailand batters with a superb 5/19.

It was a sweet victory for the SA Emerging Women’s team against Thailand in the first of three T20 matches at Senwes Park today.

The SA Emerging Women’s team just had more firepower than the Thailand women with a 60 run win. The visitors struggled with the willow against spin.

SA Emerging off spinner, Kushi Mistry bamboozled the Thailand batters with a superb 5/19. Micaela Andrews followed up on her 37 (29) with the willow earlier in the day, and took 2/10 in 3 overs. Thailand could only manage 91 before being bowled out.
 
The SA Emerging women batted first and scored 151/4. Here, Andrews (37) and Andrie Steyn (30) anchored the innings after the fall of two early wickets.
 
Faye Tunnicliffe also contributed a fine unbeaten 32 off 24 balls.
 
These two sides next meet each other tomorrow, Friday 17 September and Sunday, 19 September in the remaining two T20 matches at Senwes Park.
