The North West u.19 team redeemed themselves after their defeat against Gauteng, with a three wicket win against Boland in their final match of Khaya Majola Week in Potchefstroom.

It was a low scoring encounter where the red ball did most of the talking on a Potch Boys High pitch as NW struggled to reach the target of 105 in 33.5 overs. Hanro Swanepoel (15 off 41) and Salmaan Shabbir (2 off 8 balls) secured a tight victory in the run chase. The top scorer was opener, Bathabile Masigo with a patient 34 off 72.

Three key batsmen also lost their wickets without troubling the scorers as Corne Prinsloo was run out, and Johan Mahne and MJ Mostert going out for ducks.
Marcell Dampies (3/26) was the top bowler for Boland as he bowled his heart out in spite of defeat. Earlier, NW put on a solid team bowling effort dismissing Boland for only 104. Swanepoel, Prinsloo, Shabbir and Nathan van der Westhuizen all took two wickets apiece.
NW will be pleased with their performance this week, with their 8 wicket defeat to Gauteng and that batting collapse being the only low point.
