Potch Track Club athletes shine in Klein Karoo Street Mile

Potchefstroom Track Club athletes ended their 2021 on a positive note during a successful Klein Karoo Street Mile event on 16 December. 

Potchefstroom Track Club athletes ended their 2021 on a positive note during a successful Klein Karoo Street Mile event on 16 December.

The Karoo Street Mile in Oudtshoorn formed part of the Eden Street Mile Series that took place in the Cape from 16-20 December.

2021 NWU Junior athlete of the year, Keanu Domingo, took gold in the Junior Men’s category and placed 5th in the Open Men’s race overall in a time of 04:02.99. Rico Leijenaar took gold in the Youth Boys category in a time of 04:21.74

Alri Verster placed second in the Youth Ladies race in a time of 05:26.57. Jerry Motsau places 2nd in the Open Men’s race in 03:54.28

Her older sister, Danielle Verster, took gold in the Junior Ladies category and placed 2nd in the Open Ladies overall in 04:40.96

Christopher Swart also had a stunning race and placed 4th in the Open Men’s race in a time of 04:01.6.
