Saints Christian School once again showed why they are at the top of the cricketing mountain when they took the North West u.11 and u.13 titles in their division.
Saints have had another fantastic year with the cricket bat in hand. They have won a total of 5 trophies across both age groups. The u.11’s beat Christiana by 19 runs in their final, while the u.13s coasted to a massive 10-wicket victory against Buurmansdrif.
Saints only started their cricket season in the fourth quarter of the year and still dominated the opposition.
“All the players who competed in the u.11 finals are only u.9 and u.10 (Grade 3 and 4), which means they competed against older opposition. The same applies for the u.13 age group, where all the boys who competed were only u.11 (Grade 5s). We are very proud that our players are doing well against older opposition,” stated Saints sport coordinator, Ché Williams.
Saints also had record-breaking 7 girls who were in the u.13 boys team that competed in the final against Buurmansdrif u.13 this season.
“We are super proud of all our cricketers and will be seeing a lot of Proteas from this group in the future,” stated Williams.
