Potch underwater hockey players aiming to shine at junior nationals

This prestigious tournament will see the Potch Subaqua Underwater Hockey Club compete against top athletes in various provinces around the country at the Reddam House private school in Helderfontein.

The Potch Subaqua Underwater Hockey Club will go for gold at the SA Junior National Championships in Helderfontein from 30 March – 1 April.

This prestigious tournament will see the Potch Subaqua Underwater Hockey Club compete against top athletes in various provinces around the country at the Reddam House private school.

Four teams (u.19 girls, u.19 boys, u.15 boys and u.13 boys – mixed) will represent Potch with pride.

Luria Opperman will coach the u.13 teams with Anton Barnardo (coach of u.15 and u.19 boys) and Pamela Mackor (coach u.19 girls) also looking to gain success with their respective teams.

The Potch Subaqua Underwater Hockey Club will represent North West at the SA Junior National Championships in Helderfontein from 30 March – 1 April.

The team has needed to train at the Potchefstroom Dam swimming pool, due to the fact that the water of municipal swimming pool in Beyers Naude Avenue is not up to standard.

“The team is fit and ready to go. Our goal is to get a lot of medals,” stated Mackor.
