Glencore NW Dragons Women demolish Titans at the J.B. Marks Oval

Anneke Bosch, the Dragons' Proteas star, was in a class of her own, hitting 135* (112) for her side in the One Day match on Saturday, 1 April and a quick-fire 71 (28) in the T20 encounter. 

The Glencore North West Dragons Women completed a double victory against the Fidelity Titans Women in both the CSA One Day and T20 Women’s competitions this past weekend.

Anneke Bosch, the Dragons’ Proteas star, was in a class of her own, hitting 135* (112) for her side in the One Day match on Saturday, 1 April and a quick-fire 71 (28) in the T20 encounter.

The Dragons Women won the One Day match by 126 runs and the T20 match today (Sunday, 2 April) by 7 wickets.

The Dragons will be pleased with two brilliant days with bat and ball. In the one day encounter they scored 299/4 in 50 overs, before bowling the Titans out for only 173 in 44 overs.

The NW Dragons opening pair of Elandri Janse van Rensburg and Anica Swart (both matriculants at Potchefstroom Gimnasium), put on a solid partnership. Janse van Rensburg scored 64 (104) and Swart contributed 48 (52).

The Bosch show them erupted as she smashed a brilliant 135*. She hit 14 fours and 5 sixes in her innings. In the bowling department, Alyssa Erxleben (3/19) and Evodia Yekile (3/36) spun the Titans out cheaply. Only Robyn Searle with an unbeaten 86 off 102 balls showed any resistance.

In the T20 encounter the Dragons bowlers laid the platform with a disciplined bowling performance restricting the Titans women to only 112/3 in their 20 overs. Erxleben (1/9), Yekile (1/14) and Mali( 1/18) were the pick of the Dragons bowlers.

Bosch (71 off 28 balls) played a sublime innings hitting 4 massive sixes and 10 fours in a knock that steered the Dragons to a comfortable victory.

Swart (22* off 32) watched at the other end as her team mate gave a show on power hitting.
