NWU women gain narrow victory against Kovsies

Tara Myburgh slotted the winning goal for the NWU.

The NWU women’s first hockey team completed a 1-0 victory against Kovsies in a pre-season encounter at the NWU Astroturf on Saturday, 15 April.

Tara Myburgh slotted the winning goal in a cagey match, where the result went the home team’s way. They will hope to put in a more complete performance today (Sunday, 16 April) in their second match against Kovsies which starts at 09:30.

The NWU men and Kovsies men played a thrilling encounter yesterday which ended in a 3-3 draw. They face each other again for bragging rights today at 11:00 in what promises to be an exciting rematch.
