The North West Flames claimed a comprehensive 49-29 victory against the Eastern Cape Aloes in the Telkom Netball League on Saturday, 10 June to record their second win in a row.

The Flames rushed into a 7-0 lead after Sunel Smit sunk some early goals for her side. Caitlin du Plessis and Jomari Lubbe also banged in the goals in the second quarter after Lubbe made a swop from centre to goal attack.

Didintle Keebine also showed her experience in the game especially on the defensive side of things. In general, the Flames were relentless on defence as they gave the Aloes no chance to stamp any kind of authority on the match.

Flames’ goal defence, Sanmarie Visser, was named as the player of the match. Her partnership with Martiné Jordaan was also one of the key aspects of a solid performance against the Aloes.
