Dragons and Tuskers battle on thrilling third day

The Dragons are currently on 114/3 in their second innings at stumps on day 3 of the CSA 4-Day Cup match against the KZN Inland Tuskers at the J.B. Marks Oval.

Steely determination from North West Dragons batsmen, Grant Mokoena (66* off 127 balls) and Wihan Lubbe (28* off 64 balls) saw the pair establish a vital unbeaten 58 run partnership from 20 overs. This gave the Dragons the chance to build a 57 run lead heading into the fourth and final day with seven wickets in hand.

The Dragons are currently on 114/3 in their second innings at stumps on day 3 of the CSA 4-Day Cup match against the KZN Inland Tuskers at the J.B. Marks Oval.

This after the visitors had the Dragons in trouble at 60/3 earlier on in the day. Lesego Senokwane (2) played a loose shot away from his body to nick behind off Thando Ntini. Malcolm Nofal (2/32) got the wickets of Lesiba Ngoepe and Rubin Hermann. Ngoepe (12) played across the line and was bowled, whilst Hermann (1) was caught at leg gully.

Mokoena though, stood firm to score his second half-century of the match. Dragons captain, Wihan Lubbe also showed grit to keep his wicket. Both will look to extend the lead and take the game away from the Tuskers.

The Tuskers made the Dragons toil in the field for over five sessions and a total of 152 overs in their score of 492 all out.

Ben Compton made 170 and Tuskers captain, Michael Erlank, also contributed with 102. The latter was undone by a superb inswinger from Duan Jansen (1/62).

Debutant CJ King (2/61) was also impressive getting both Malcolm Nofal and Tian Koekemoer to nick behind.

Senuran Muthusamy (2/101) also took the wickets of Dilivio Ridgaard (48) and Andile Mhletywa (8).

Migael Pretorius (5/99) was the stand out bowler for the Dragons.
