NWU Tawana and TUT play to a stalemate

The entertaining match played at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds ended in a 1-1 draw after TUT managed to sneak in a late equaliser.

NWU Tawana FC had a win snatched from their grasp this past Saturday (27 January) in a NW ABC Motsepe League match against Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).

Katlego Johannes Taunyane scored for the NWU Tawana and was surrounded by his team-mates thinking that he had scored the winner with only 15 minutes to go.

This though was not the case as TUT kept pushing with Karabo Mokgeledi finding the equaliser

NWU head coach, Michael Seleka, thanked the supporters for cheering on his boys from the first to the last whistle.

“Our boys played well but lost concentration in the last few minutes. I’m proud of them. Thank you, purple army.”

Both TUT and NWU Tawana matched each other on the day in this ABC Motsepe League encounter.

NWU Tawana are now on 10 points after 7 matches, just behind TUT FC on goal difference.

*NW Signal FC of Ikageng recorded their first win of the season in the ABC Motsepe League this past Saturday, 27 January with a 3-2 win against Taung Mega Stars in an away encounter.
