Potch Dorp Rugby triumphs at Klerksdorp Sevens Festival

Potch Dorp Rugby Club excels at Klerksdorp Sevens, with the Gladiators winning the Plate and the Party Panthers securing the Bowl.

Members of Potch Dorp rugby club took part at the annual Klerksdorp sevens festival. Potch Dorp entered two teams in the club and social division respectively. The Potch Gladiators were crowned plate winners in the club division, while the party panthers won the bowl in the social division. The tournament took place on September 20 and 21.

The results are as follows:

Potchefstroom Gladiators

Friday:

PG vs Texas Devils (24-7)

PG vs Barbarians (7-33)

PG vs Akademia (17-19)

Saturday:

PG vs The Dutchman (0-38)

PG vs Kimberlites (24-7)

PG vs Rustenburg Impala (17-0)

The Potch Gladiators won the Plate

Party Panthers

Friday:

PP vs Overland (26 – 5)

PP vs Processing Blitz (5 – 5)

PP vs Knights (7 – 12)

Saturday:

PP vs Vlakvarke (26 – 7)

PP vs Vortex (31 – 5)

PP vs NWRA (19 – 12)

 

Party Panthers won the Bowl

“Each and every player played their heart out, despite the cold weather and wind. We are blessed for this opportunity and to have no serious injuries. We are thankful for the privilege to represent Potchefstroom Rugby club and being able to take home the plate and bowl. This would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors, thank you to each and everyone. We plan on going bigger than ever.
