Saints Christian School’s u19 girls cricket team has once again showcased excellence as winners of the North West Women’s Premier League A 50-over competition.
This is an incredible achievement for the school, who took on the best women’s club teams in the province during the 2025/26 season. They won five matches and lost three to top the table on 29 points.
Klerksdorp Travellers finished in second place on 26 points, with Matlosana third on 22 points.
Saints competed against teams that featured Dragons Senior Women’s players, who were split among the various sides. Saints also did not have any senior professionals in their squad, which makes their victory even more remarkable.
The oldest players in the Saints line-up are Grade 10 learners, with the rest in Grades 8 and 9. They had to compete against senior women who are mostly out of school.
Saints captain, Reabetswe Dithipe, was the top wicket-taker in the competition.
According to Saints sport director, Claudio Lucas, the victory is an outstanding achievement, especially considering they competed against much older players.
“We dominated and played really well throughout the league. Our girls are only 14 to 16 years old. It makes it even more incredible and special,” he said.
