Kids experience the joy of athletics

Close to 200 kids flocked to the NWU McArthur Athletics stadium to experience an epic afternoon of athletics fun under the coaching of NW Project 350 athletes.

North West Project 350 elite athletes hosted an energetic Kids Athletics coaching clinic with 200 young kids at the McArthur Stadium on Monday, April 6.

This was held in association with the Hezekiel Sepeng Continental Invitational Tour, alongside partners such as Sepeng Athletics Project, Potch Track Club and Athlete Aid.

Boys and girls, aged 6-12, joined in from Dr. Kenneth Kaunda communities including Potch, Jouberton, Kanana, Khuma, Stilfontein, Ikageng, Promosa and Mohadin.

Kids enjoyed learning more from the Project 350 athletes.

They kids took part in sprinting and jumping to throwing events. For many of the children, it was their first exposure to structured athletics coaching. Elite athletes from NW Project 350, guided them in every step with fun and accessibility being key aspects.

The organisers expressed their gratitude to the parents and guardians who entrusted them with their children, as well as to all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the event.
