North West Cricket gives honour to top performers

Numerous top accolades went to both professional and youth sectors involved in North West Cricket.

Rubin Hermann and Mignon du Preez were two of the big winners during North West Cricket’s annual award ceremony for the 2025/26 season hosted at Snowflake on Saturday, May 9.

Hermann was awarded as the Men’s Player of the Year, whilst Du Preez won the Women’s Player of the Year Award. Hermann had an outstanding season which resulted in him featuring for the Proteas. Du Preez, a former Proteas Women’s player, showed that she had a lot in the tank left with a stunning season.

North West Cricket rewarded their top cricketers at youth and professional level with numerous top awards.

According to acting CEO, Tommy Phiri, the awards showcased the level of talent and was a justification of the hard work.

“It is special to honour everyone at North West Cricket, who work hard on and off the field. We hope to take North West Cricket even further next season with our senior men’s and women’s team going for silverware.”

Phiri also mentioned a special moment when Johannes Landsberg was rewarded with an award for 30 years of Service at North West Cricket.

“Johannes has been here for years serving North West Cricket as a driver, it was special to honour him.”
