Randburg police clamp down on crime

Randburg police and members of the JMPD embarked on a crime prevention operation in the CBD.

Randburg Police Station officers and members of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) led by Station Commander Brigadier Michelle Jones, embarked on a crime prevention operation on January 20 which started in the morning and ended in the afternoon, to curb criminal activities around Randburg central business district.

“Several suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from being in possession of illicit cigarettes, assaults, thefts and common robberies,” said Randburg police’s spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja.

“Meanwhile, the detectives were addressing the wanted suspects and dockets which were registered during the operation…The suspects are expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court,” Maja said.
