UK takes top podium stands at ovals

In the second leg of the United Kingdom (UK) vs. South Africa (SA) Tour which took place at Polokwane Oval on Saturday, drivers from the UK took no chances of losing a spot on the podium.
Dick Hillard, Adam Hatrick and Martin Heath were eager to compete and let South Africa know of their presence of the race track. The third and final leg will be hosted in Richards Bay on 3 May.
Spectators were also treated to the usual race classes which, despite a quick rain shower, brought some adrenaline rushing activity to the race track.
Megan Kotze put some pedal to the metal from the first race in the Ninja Midget class leaving the second place open to Callie Lensley and third to JC Oosthuizen.
Roean van Breda and his sister, Roeline were again the favourites among the Rookies. Nadia Grové had to be satisfied with the third place after the Van Breda siblings took first and second place respectively.
Stockrod driver Michael Myburgh was handed the chequered flag after some high performing racing which left Hennie de Koker and Jacques Grobler in second and third respectively.

Drivers in the 1660 class battled it out but Quintin Erasmus left other racers behind in the quarrel for the second and third place. Heath Bent and Kevin Concalves were second and third after the final race.
The 2,1 Modified class usually brings a lot of attention the track with Roelof van Breda making it hard for his competitors to take the lead. Van Breda proudly collected the winning trophy with Riaan Labuschagne and Desmond Bosch taking home the silver and bronze respectively.
The powerful V8 Sprints were also in action on Saturday with Willie Zurich claiming victory in the category leaving Kenny Gouws and Johan Beukes in second and third respectively.
Nico Vorster, Neville Loosemore and Allas Pienaar were racing hard for the winning title in the Hotrods class but it was Vorster who scored highest followed by Loosemore and Pienaar in second and third position.
Polokwane Oval Promoter Stephan Weideman said motoring enthusiasts can already look forward to the next event when Polokwane will host the club race on 5 March.
