Polokwane City Football Club will be hoping for maximum points when they play Bidvest Wits at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on 9 March City was beaten 2-3 by Ajax Cape Town at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium and the defeat sees City hovering around the relegation zone.
City’s goals were scored by their captain Jabu Maluleke while Prince Nxumalo s brace and solitary goal by veteran striker Erwin Isaacs were enough to give Ajax a hard fought victory.
“It was terrible loss against Ajax, because we have just come from another loss against Arrows. It feels bad but we want to pick ourselves and collect maximum points up,” Club Spokesperson Tumelo Makgoara said.
City has never beaten Wits in any Premier League match and cup competition, earlier this year the students thrashed City 5-0 at Milpark Stadium.
“It was shocking defeat, because we had just beaten Super Sport 4-1. We are very much aware of their form in the league. We are not going to give them a soft match, we will fight until the last whistle,” Makgoara said.
