Polokwane City Football Club’s 1-1 tie against Orlando Pirates on Sunday is a huge disappointment according to their head coach, Luc Eymael.
City is currently enjoying their run in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and has extended their unbeaten run to five matches which sees them in fourth position of the league with nine points after six matches.
“We are doing well in the league but I am disappointed with the outcome against Pirates because we overplayed them. Despite the differences between us and them, we still showed that we are a good team,” Eymael said.
He explained that they have shifted their focus to the Telkom-knockout match against defending Champions Mamelodi Sundowns on 27 October at Lucas Moripe Stadium. “It will be a very difficult game because I have a thin squad in terms of quality. They have quality players and they can rotate the squad. Two of our key players Thobani Mncwango and Rodney Ramagalela sustained injuries against Pirates and that is a concern for us. We are hoping that they will be able to play against Sundowns,” he said.
City’s goal was scored by Puleng Tlolane while Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro converted for the mighty Buccaneers.
