Baroka Football Club is certain to benefit from the experience its players stand to gain through their participation in the African Nations Tournament taking place in Zambia from today (Thursday) to 25 March.
Morgan Mammilla, Chef Executive Officer responded to the call-ups received by Zimbabwean striker, Talent Chawapiwa, Malawian midfielder Robin Ngalande and Tanzanian defender Abdi Banda to represent their countries in the tournament
Mammilla congratulated the players and said the club was proud of them. “Inclusion in their respective national teams does not only augur well for us but also put us high on the African continent. They are ambassadors and marketers of the club on the African continent. They are regular players in the team and I think when they come back from the tournament they will be in top shape and ready for the Nedbank Cup and Premier Soccer League (PSL),” he said.
The trio joined the club in August last year and has played in almost all the matches of the PSL. “They are good professionals and a good example to young players. They played nearly 80% of our league matches and contributed immensely to the team. We are currently in a good position in the league because of their contribution,” Mammilla stated.
