Limpopo Darts open the year with trials
The Flying Rabbits Dart Club played host to the Limpopo Dart Trials on Saturday (21 January) at Noordelikes Rugby Club to start off a new year of darting fun.
POLOKWANE – Altogether five trials are scheduled throughout the year where players have the opportunity to accumulate as many points as possible in order to be selected for the provincial darts team that will represent Limpopo at national competitions.
The Limpopo team is made up of six men and six women and will take part in the annual South African Darts Championship in Durban, KwaZulu Natal in July.
The results of the first trials are:
• Men:
1. Simon Adams – 20 points
2. Boet Naudé – 18 points.
3. George Fraser – 17 points.
4. Jaco Esterhuizen (Snr) and Louwrens van Staden – 16 and 15 points respectively.
5. Justin Ramoshaba and Jean Viljoen – 15 points each.
• Women:
1. Esmerelda Burke – four points.
2. Marietha le Roux – four points.
3. Susan van Jaarsveld (Snr) – four points.
4. Celia Prinsloo – three points.
5. Susan van Jaarsveld (Jnr) – three points.
Simon Adams played the first 180 of the year while Hendrik van Jaarsveld played the highest close at 106.
