POLOKWANE – Four teams of the Eagles Cricket Club (ECC) came together on Saturday for the T20 limited overs reunion matches.

In reply, the Roodt Invitational team could only manage 130 runs in their 20 allocated overs.

The Weterman and Maasberg teams slogged it out on the B field. The side of Weterman won the toss and decided to bowl first. The side of Maasberg then went on to set a target of 150 runs in their innings.

The Weterman-side chased down the 150 runs with two overs to spare to go through to the final match of the day against the van Zyl Invitational side on the A field.

JP Lopes, ECC Club Manager, says on behalf of the club they firstly would like to thank all their sponsors of the day, and secondly, all the cricket players who contributed to the success of the event.

“After Saturday’s T20 reunion matches, we as a club are looking into hosting a similar event in future, perhaps even later this year, due to the success of this event and also the format of the tournament that was so popular among the players.”
