Trinityhouse play brings down the house
Learners captivate audience with beautiful rendition of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
The drama department of Trinityhouse Little Falls put on a breathtaking performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to a packed hall on Saturday, July 13 achieving a resounding standing ovation.
Saturday’s performance, the last of three sold-out shows, played out flawlessly, with angelic voices and stand-out performances too numerous to mention.
School principal Shaun Hansel and Business Studies and Geography teacher Sonia Ferreira directed and acted, joining the talented young Trinityhouse troupe on stage throughout the performance.
The production did an outstanding job of highlighting the astonishing talents of every actor on stage. It was clear that a lot of hard work went into getting this ambitious production as good as it could be, and it paid off. This performance was as good as any professional stage performance, and the set design, lighting, and sound were excellent.
The audience took part enthusiastically, singing and clapping along to the many hit songs featured in the play, and applauding loudly at every opportunity – of which there were many. The audience was so enthused with the performance, that everyone was out of their seats and clapping along for the last 10 minutes of the play.
After the play, Hansel announced his retirement from play directing – which he has been doing for the past 27 years – thanking the cast, his co-director, his wife, and of course, the parents for their patience during the long and often gruelling preparations over the past eight months.
