Glover riders impress at Easter festival

The event saw both the experienced and developing equestrians show their skills in a highly competitive field.

The Glover Paddocks Equestrian Park riders had a strong showing at the 2026 Toyota Easter Festival, held in Kyalami at the end of March. The team picked up good results across many classes, with clear rounds, placings, and valuable experience gained in a competitive environment.

In the bigger classes, Tasmin Maher and Perri jumped a clear round in the A1.35m, finishing 11th. Christopher Prinsloo and Brandenburg Classique also rode well in the J1.35m, producing confident rounds in a tough class. In the A1.30m, Tasmin and Story were placed, while Tasmin and Secret both had good rounds, but each had one pole down.

Andrea Bekker and Qunu had a strong show in the 1.20m championships, finishing third and fourth in the champs. In the junior section, Christiaan Prinsloo and Seeis Antiqua are still building back from injury and showed good progress with each round.

In the 1.10m, Andrea and Limitless had their first show at this height and finished with one pole in each round. Tasmin and Fantasie jumped a clear round, which was a great result. In the 1m class, Leanè du Plessis and Shutterfly were back at shows after some time away and had a solid show with just one pole in each round.

The 90cm classes also brought good results. Tasmin and Gin went clear in all their rounds and were well placed. In the junior champs, Angelina Grab and Abydos Wally finished 10th and 11th, while Michaela Humphery and Eligius finished 20th and went clear, with one down in the jump-off. Anika Grobler and Fly placed 12th, and Anika and Chase are still building their new partnership with improved rounds.

In the 80cm class, Lucy Leimer and Roo had a good show, going clear and finishing eighth, then jumping clear again in the championship before just one pole in the jump-off. The riders and their horses showed steady progress and teamwork throughout the whole week of the festival.
