SASOLBURG. – The Zamdela police are warning the community in Sasolburg about he high number of robberies  around the Sasolburg CBD.

The police say they have been receiving a high number  of reports whereby victims get robbed by a group of about six males around the Sasolburg CBD, especially at the greenbelts.

Suspects target victims walking alone during the day and night. They use a knife or a firearm to threaten and rob their belongings.

Further more, the  community should be aware of suspects disguising as sales persons roaming around in town at furniture stores.

“When the culprits see a customer they approach and offer them a lower price on the item they want to buy in the store.  The suspects will then tell the victim that in order for him to get the item, the victim must first give them money and cellphones.  The suspect will then tell the victim to wait for him at a certain place where they will receive their items and subsequently flee with the money and belongings.”

Police urge residents to be more vigilant.
