Local talent shines at Tshepong Secondary School awareness day
" The event successfully captured the students' attention."
SEBOKENG.– The Tshepo Chad Motingoe (TCM) Arts and Culture organisation recently brought a vibrant mix of talent and tough talk to Tshepong Secondary School.
The “Awareness and Entertainment Day” used the power of the arts to engage learners on serious social issues while celebrating local creativity.

By blending modelling, dance, music, and poetry, the event successfully captured the students’ attention.
Organiser, Chad Motingoe, explained that the concept was designed to speak directly to young people in a language they understand. Performances were used as a platform to tackle difficult topics such as bullying, poverty, substance abuse, and the weight of peer pressure.

To ensure the advice given was practical, TCM collaborated with local NGOs and NPOs to provide learners with real support structures.
The stage came alive with local artists who gave their time to inspire the next generation. Local artists that were at the event included Makhado, Maboza wase TV, Beke le Beke, Jomo Sech Galagala, and many more.

Their performances drew cheers, but also opened conversations about discipline, self-respect, and using talent as a way out of negative situations.
Confidence was on full display during the modelling showcase, where students took to the catwalk with pride.

Judges had the tough job of selecting Miss and Mr Tshepong Secondary School from a strong Top 3.
“TCM believes every learner deserves recognition. Those who did not make the Top 3 received Certificates of Appreciation and Participation. The message was clear: keep going. Dreams only transform into reality through persistence.”
Motingoe thanked the staff and learners of Tshepong Secondary for their enthusiastic co-operation.
The school tour continues across the region, and interested parties or potential partners can contact TCM Arts & Culture on 068 100 3791 to bring the initiative to their school.
