THE family of Mnqobi Godfrey Mbambo (22) of Fakazi, is desperately looking for him as he has been missing since Saturday evening, 26 September.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing black shorts and a white, blue and red T-shirt. He has a silver filling in the shape of a ‘U’ on his front teeth.
“On the evening of his disappearance, Mnqobi and his brother, Thami visited friends. Thami decided to go home early and Mnqobi said he would go home a bit later. The friends don’t live far from Mnqobi’s house,” said Charmaine Le Roux, who employs the brothers’ mother as a domestic worker.
“When his family realised he was not at home on Sunday morning, 27 September, they weren’t worried as they thought he would be home later or could have woken up early. By the afternoon they started to worry and went to the friend’s house who said he had left his home in the early morning hours of the morning.
It is not in his nature to stay away from home and also not to let anyone know. They called him the whole of Sunday and his cell phone rang without answer. On Monday morning his mom was really getting worried and started searching for him. They went to SAPS Toti and KwaMakhutha, to hospitals close by, hospitals in Scottburgh and Durban, but there’s been no trace of him.”
Community members who live close-by and know the family searched the area from his house to the friend’s house, through the bushes, but got no trace of him.
“His mom and the family are good people and have been working for me for many years, we would really appreciate any help we can get for the safe return of her son.”
