Amanzimtoti SPCA to host Mother’s Day open day

The Amanzimtoti SPCA hosts open days to raise funds and to create awareness about the work the animal shelter does.

THE Amanzimtoti SPCA invites the community to its Mother’s Day open day on May 11 from 08:30 to 11:45 at its premises.

In an attempt to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the animals in its care, the animal shelter hosts open days to showcase the work it does.

The SPCA’s Michelle Hannan said, “We will have all our usual treats ready for you, including scrumptious food, great stalls to look at and beautiful animals up for adoption. Spoil yourselves and come and join us.”

Some of the tasty food that will be on sale includes breakfast rolls, vegetable breyani, vegan food, pancakes and baked goods.

In addition, the SPCA is having another pet photographic competition – this time for mothers and their fur babies. It is R50 per pet to enter. The closing date is tomorrow (May 7). Email a photograph of yourself and your pet, along with proof of payment, to pro@spcatoti.co.za. The winner will be announced on the open day.

Community members are encouraged to donate baked goods or unwanted household items for volunteers to sell. Stalls are also available at R100 each. The address is 1 Nyati Road, Athlone Park.
