Amanzimtoti artists paint picturesque beaches

Totally Art Club received a painting masterclass from a fine artist, who demonstrated an effective way to capture the beauty of the beach.

THE MONTHLY meeting for Totally Art Club, which took place at Mooi Hawens on October 18, saw the artists enjoy an interactive demonstration by Johann du Toit, a fine artist and member of Art by the Sea.

Suzette Pretorius, of Totally Art Club, said the meeting was inspiring. She added that members shared their beautiful works for the theme, “Reflections,” in watercolour.

“It was amazing to see how each artist interpreted the theme in their own unique way. The results were stunning,” said Pretorius.

They also shared paintings they made for chairperson Patricia McCann’s monthly challenge, themed around bucket list activities.

“Our club is growing in creativity and enthusiasm, and it’s wonderful to see how excited everyone is to make art together,” said Pretorius.

Du Toit demonstrated his way of capturing the beauty of the ocean, from the sandy shores, to the gentle crashing of waves along rocks, and the horizon blending into the further reaches of the sea.
