Amanzimtoti police stocked with care packs for GBV victims

To date, a total of 155 comfort packs have been given to victims of sexual, gender-based and domestic violence to assist them with recovery.

THE Sparrow Trust, an anti-human trafficking organisation, in partnership with the Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum recently made the delivery of the 155th comfort pack to the Isipingo police station’s Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Desk.

The non-profit organisation’s founding director, Estelle van Eeden, said this was thanks to the community’s generosity. Each pack contains essential items, including toiletries, snacks, a soft toy for children, and notebook and a pen.

“As we delivered the 155th pack since the start of the initiative, we remember that each comfort pack is a tangible act of love and support for victims of crime when they visit the GBV desks at the Amanzimtoti and Isipingo police stations to open cases after falling victim to crime. Our individual and collective stories of caring, resilience, restoration and healing matter,” said Van Eeden.
