A generous donation by the South African Muslim Charitable Trust saw an Isipingo school fitted with a computer laboratory.

With many schools taking their first tentative steps towards introducing coding and robotics into the curriculum, the South African Muslim Charitable Trust (SAMCT) fast-tracked the process for IBIS, allowing the school to overcome its financial challenges thanks to a R600 000 donation towards the computer room.

“Upon learning of this school’s vision, SAMCT was pleased to assist. Learners in under-resourced areas of South Africa deserve access to educational tools which would otherwise remain out of reach,” said Gaff Osman of SAMCT.

Osman added that the introduction of coding and robotics as a subject nurtures essential skills for the 21st century, and prepares learners for the future workforce in an increasingly technologically-advanced world.
