Sleigh pushers have fun at Christmas run

It is that time of the year when all athletes need to budget for the 2014 license renewal.

RUN Walk For Life’s Saturday morning run was cancelled due to rain but runners and walkers cannot always have it all.

RWFL urges all the fitness junkies/runners to come and join up.

Sunday’s Illovo Christmas run was the last road running event for the year and members enjoyed themselves dressing up, having to push the Christmas sleigh for 15km through Westville. This was no easy task but members gave all the other clubs a run for their money. Thanks to all who participated and those who enjoyed refreshments at the end of the run.

It is that time of the year when all athletes need to budget for the 2014 license renewal. While ASA has increased its licence fees, RWFL will not and will actually decrease fees. Members will pay only R120 to belong to the club, which includes an ASA number. The rest will pay R250, the same as this year, which also includes the ASA licence number. RWFL appreciates the support of various clubs, athletes and walkers who support its walks and runs.

For safety sake, wear bright coloured clothing as well as reflective wear so that motorists are better able to see you.

All races have been cancelled this weekend, due to Nelson Mandela’s funeral.

On Saturday there will be a 15 km run at 5am from Amanzimtoti High School.

RWFL will be closed for the Christmas season, from Friday, 13 December until the first training session on Monday, 6 January 2014.

All RWFL members, athletes, their families and everyone, may you all have a merry Christmas and a happy new year may you travel safe and come back next year safely.
