Father and son anglers hook the big fish

BUCCANEERS Fishing Club held its first competition for 2014 on the weekend of 18 and 19 January, which proved a good start.
Dennis Nosworthy, Buccaneers’ fisherman of the year for 2013, kicked off with a giant guitar fish of 17.4kg and a grey shark of 7.6kg, winning the inedible category. His father Mike Nosworthy recorded a black tip shark of 10.5kg.
Among the results was Garry Lloyd with a brown skate of 3.4kg.
The next competition dates are to be announced shortly. The club wishes all anglers a good 2014.

Brian Scott was awarded four trophies for 2013, runner up to the  fisherman of the year, heaviest inedible (a honey comb skate of 106.1kg), safely released, most unusual fish caught and most improved angler with him is chairman, Tony Chantrell (Taffy) and Gwen Higgs competition secretary.
