Tenpin scores on the rise
17 bowlers participated in a three-game shoot-out to see who could bowl the highest
AS the weeks progress, so the Amanzimtoti Tenpin Bowling Club bowlers are shrugging off the effects of the year-end break and ‘practise makes perfect’ is showing dividends, as the scores start to climb towards the peaks seen last season.
The February monthly meat competition was held at Dolphin this past weekend and saw the largest field for many a month participate.
Seventeen bowlers, aged from under 10 to over 70, participated in a three-game shoot-out to see who could bowl the highest plus over his average.
First to show from the field were Dylan van Berkel on plus 45, followed by Cheryl Hambrook on plus 40, Ron McClatchie plus 31 and Ricky O’Hare plus 23. In the second game Dylan and Ron turned on the heat bowling 254 and 264 respectively.
DROPPED
Cheryl unfortunately could not keep up with these numbers and dropped out of the picture.
In the third game Dylan and Ron were unable to keep up the scoring and it was at this time that ‘dark horses’ Maggie Fouche and Alicia Coetzee chose to set the pins flying with their highest games of the day. In the long run Dylan held on to win by 11 pins from Ron, followed by Maggie and Alicia. Congratulations to all who participated.
