Tee off at Umdoni for Faron-Mae

Entry fee for the golf day is R150 per person and the format is a betterball.

The Fisher family invites all golfers to make a difference and come and support the Faron-Mae Fisher Golf Day at Umdoni Park Golf Club on Sunday, 22 June.

Faron-Mae Fisher is a three-year-old Toti girl, who was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic disease, GSD type 0 (glycogen storage disease) in 2012.

She is the only known baby in South Africa with this condition, and one of 1,000 worldwide.

Faron-Mae is unable to eat or drink through her mouth, due to her developmental delays as a result of her condition, affecting her eating ability, speech, motor skills and normal development. She has to be fed through a MIC-key, which is a tube in her tummy, by which she receives all her food and liquids throughout the day and night.

The entry fee for the golf day is R150 per person and the format is a betterball. Tee-off from 11am onwards.

To book, contact the pro shop on 039-975-1320.

Dinner is available at R65 per person, a braai or fish and chips. Pre-book with the pro shop.

“We desperately in need of prizes for the day, as this is our biggest challenge at this stage,” said Faron-Mae’s mother, Paula. “It is a fourball, so prizes in fours if possible.

Sponsorship of a hole is also an option, which starts from R500.”

Banking details for the Faron-Mae Fisher trust fund: First National Bank, business account, account number: 62382573783. branch code: 250655.
