Nipper open day at Winkle SLC to share insights

Members are to remember that retests are on the go

EXCITEMENT is in the air as the nipper season is about to commence.

Winklespruit Surf Lifesaving Club’s nipper open day is on Sunday, 7 September starting at 8.30am at Winklespruit main beach and the club extends an open invitation to all to take their children along to see what nippers is all about.

There will be some training, fun activities and food and drink for sale upstairs in the clubhouse.

Any juniors or seniors who are interested in lifesaving are welcome to go down and have a chat to club captain Gareth Hazell.

On the issue of the clubhouse, the upstairs area has been refurbished and is looking good, thanks to all the members who helped with the painting and maintenance. It was a great team effort, and there will be more work parties planned so look out for the emails. The refreshment area will be open this Friday from 5.30pm so pop in for a sundowner.

Congratulations to Taryn Barber on her 21st birthday, quite a party was enjoyed by all at the club on Saturday night. Congratulations to members, Michela Parker, Isabel Smit and Aleshia Moll on being appointed as prefects at their schools.

Members are to remember that retests are on the go, with the first round being held this Sunday. Before you can do a retest, you must have done a refresher course so speak to Gareth if you need a retest.
