Toti MTB cyclists find Scotties race a breeze

The mountainbikers will be riding the Lords single track again on Thursday evenings.

THE wind played havoc with all Amanzimtoti Cycling Club’s training and racing over the weekend.

Those who did venture out received excellent power training.

A few team mates went to do the Mandela race in Howick. The course was said to be quite harsh and not much fun as the wind factor increased the discomfort. The Scottburgh race was held on Sunday, and saw an excellent turn-out of riders of all different levels. Once again the wind was hectic, but the sun shone and the day was good. Riders had good comments about the race, with its improved, added-on track and route. What a nice end to winter.

Spring has poked its head out now and people should start dusting the cobwebs off their sturdy machines and start hitting the track. There are lots of exciting places to ride and beautiful things to see out there.

Hill2hill is on riders’ doorstep and the last bit of training for it is being squeezed out.

The club social takes place next Wednesday at Lords at 7pm. It will see a whole lot of enthusiastic, friendly cyclists congregate around the bar so join in.

The mountainbikers will be riding the Lords single track again on Thursday evenings, now that the sun is out for longer. Go and try out a few laps and learn about the other fun things they get up to. You can also pick up some technical skills from them, which will make you a Mamba around the track. This track’s improvement and maintenance is paid for by Amanzimtoti Cycling Club, but is free for anyone to ride on at any time. For more information, call Caryn on 082-357-5287.
